Met Shem for a quick ride around the ClimachX trail. First climb was OK as was the first bit if singletrak but as I came out of that my gears had slipped into the bottom cog and I couldn't change back down. Took a look to see what was wrong and noticed that the cable guide under the bottom-bracket had snapped off so there wasn't enough tension on the cable and nowhere to route the cable.

I managed to bodge it and fix the chain on the largest cog and then trapped the cable between some bottle bosses under the frame so that I could at least ride the rest of the trail, albeit without any rear gears.

Still, it was a perfect day for it and a nice easy ride in gorgeous weather. Time for some bike maintenance now though (if I can get hold of the spare part required).
